Aavik P-280
The power amplifier P-280 masters the two typical Aavik virtues that have ended up characterizing all their products - excess power and ultra-low noise. The P-280 does this in an incredibly harmonious way, creating a musical soundscape that is at once emotionally light and at the same time heartfelt and passionate. In order to produce the large and holographic sound image, Aavik has, as usual, used some of the most advanced technologies and components. The sound image has also been further refined by dividing the integrated amplifier into two separate parts, which has made it possible to reduce the noise floor, refine the signal and increase the power resources even more than before. Last but not least, this division of pre- and power amplifier has created space for completely new technologies, which provide a significant improvement of the sound image and its black background.
International, Scandinavian design
Looking at the P-280 there is no doubt about its geographical origin - the design expresses simplicity and minimalism, broken only by the large red display, which makes all the details and operating settings easy to read. The buttons are kept to an absolute minimum, and they ensure logical operation with the large multi-functional main button, through which the various functions can be navigated and controlled.
High performance cabinet design
One of the things that sets Aavik apart from the other brands is their holistic approach. The new series consider the effect of the cabinet on the sound in a completely new way, and therefore they have gone to great lengths to reduce the amount of aluminum in the cabinet, because it has poor mechanical resonance. Instead, they have tested and designed a new innovative nature-based composite material which reduces the mechanical impact and sonic distortions.
The design is another element that has really gone into a lot of effort in the design development of the P-280. Here, inspiration is drawn from musical instruments and how their shape as well as choice of materials influence the sound quality. That's why you don't see any hard edges on Aavik's devices, because it affects and defines the tones negatively. Instead, you see a perfect combination of its materials and contours, chosen for their ability to produce warm harmonic and powerful sound. It ensures an authentic reproduction that is at the same time so crisp and refined that it enables you to experience every detail in the music.
